This is the biggest religious festival in Tibet. Originated from Tsongkpa in 1409, the beginner of the Gelukpa sect. Monks from the Three Great Monastery of Tibet foregather in Jokhang for appeal to Shakyamuni’s image as if it comprised the living Buddha.
